During the Overhaul process, those parts specified for automatic removal are replaced. Any reusable parts are inspected for conformity with new part tolerances or limits.
        The engine is then reassembled with all new pistons, rings, piston pins and plugs, intake and exhaust valves, springs, guides, seats and gaskets.  New cylinders available ask for quote.
        Then - just as with a new Continental - the Overhauled engine is tested to factory specifications to be sure it’s up to the performance standards of a new engine.
        When your Overhauled Continental is installed, it will have a 24 month 480 hour warranty from Don George Aircraft, and the same recommended TBO as a new Continental.

During an overhaul, existing engine parts from similar or compatible engines that meet Don George's and Continental's service allowable limits are reused where appropriate. There is however, an automatic "throw it away and replace it" policy for any part that doesn’t measure up. And, a number of specified critical parts are replaced with new parts, no questions asked.   It’s important to know also, that with a Don George overhaul, the price you’re quoted is the price you’ll pay … providing the crankcase and crankshaft are usable. There are no "we didn’t know about that until we opened it up" surprises.
        The engine will comply with the latest configuration required by all Continental Service Bulletins and all  FAA Airworthiness Directives at the time of overhaul.
       All Don George overhauled engines get the standard accessories included when the engine was new. The overhauled price includes the fuel metering system, ignition system and starter. Where applicable, the turbocharging system (excluding exhaust system), alternator, engine-driven fuel pump and provisions for pneumatic and hydraulic pump drives are included.
